In field studies in the Sadore region of Niger in 1993, the number of natural enemies reared from larvae of the pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum) pest Heliocheilus albipunctella was lower than that reported in the literature. Two predators were recorded, Orius sp. and an unidentified ant, together with the parasitoids Bracon hebetor and Copidosoma sp. However, the results suggested that natural enemies are a significant cause of mortality in H. albipunctella, their greatest impact occurring in the later instars. none
