comment:
The activity of antioxidant enzymes, including super oxide dismutase (SOD), catelase (CAT) and peroxidase (POD), was determined in vivo in different tissues of 5th instar larvae of O. furnacalis parasitized by M. cingulum. The results showed that a great deal of reactive oxygen species (ROS) were generated in the host larvae, and the increase of SOD activity was induced. In addition, the distribution of SOD, CAT and POD in the hemolymph, integument and fat body differed from each other. Thus, ROS induced in vivo in different tissues of 5th instar larvae of O. furnacalis parasitized by M. cingulum could be scavenged by the antioxidant enzymes, which was benefit for the sucessful development of M. cingulum in the host larvae. none
