The braconid Perilitus areolaris sp. nov. a parasitoid of the curculionid Hylobius abietis (Linnaeus) in Sweden, is described and compared with the nearly related P. rutilus (Nees). Courtship, mating and oviposition behavior is described and compared with that of P. rutilus.
