M. hutsoni (Nixon), a recently recorded larval-pupal baconid parasite of O. arenosella Walk., has a distribution limited to certain areas of Malabar, in Kerala (India). Observations on certain aspects of the biology and behavior of this parasite are given. Females living longer than males: with 50% honey, females lived for 12.4 days, whereas mates lived for 9.3 days. In the field, males outnumber females, their ratio being 4:3. Total duration of life stages from egg to adult varies from 17-23 days.
