Functional responses of Cardiochiles philippinensis and Macrocentrus cnaphalocrocis, both parasitoids of Cnaphalocrocis medinalis were typically that of Holling's Type II. Estimates of T-h were well approximated with low SEs while the a values in some cases had high SEs. Test arena sizes did not have significant effects on parasitoid search. Both the nonparametric rank-sums test and F-test indicated no difference. Significant differences were found when the functional responses of using different larval stages as host and parasitoids of different ages were compared. These differences were primarily attributed to difference in T-h values. The functional responses of the two parasitoids were not significantly different.
