The European apple sawfly larvae, a serious pest of apple trees in some regions of Poland, is parasitized by Ichneumonidae. The biology of Lathrolestes marginatus (Thomps.), the main parasite of H. testudinea , is connected with host development. Ichneumonidae do not play of important role in reduction of the H. testudinea populations, because parasitzed larvae are infected by entomogeneous fungi and nematodes during their diapause in the soil, as are nonparasitized larvae. none
