An analysis is given of parasitoids of the suborder Symphyta, including 295 genera and 2500 species which belonging to 20 families of Hymenoptera and 4 families of Diptera. Ichneumonidae was found to be the largest family, and to include 173 genera and 2040 species (58.6% of all genera and 80.2% of all species in Symphyta). The fauna of Ichneumonidae is characterized by extremely high generic specificity, and a large number of high-rank taxa (tribes and subfamilies). The distribution of the family in 4 zoogeographic areas is described. Parasites of sawfly eggs (species and their host organisms) are discussed.
