Developments are reported in the non-chemical control in South Africa of stem-boring Lepidoptera (especially Busseola fusca and Chito partellus) of grain crops (especially maize and sorghum), including tillage, monitoring for correct timing of control measures, and biological control. Eight parasitoids that have recently been introduced into South Africa against stem-borers are listed; of these, Xanthopimpla stemmator and Tetrastichus howardi have been recovered so far. none
