Observations showed that Ornativalva heluanensis (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) occurred in three generations a year on saltcedar (Tamarix, Tamaricareae) at Fukang, Xinjiang. The 1st and 2nd generations took 30 - 45d each. The 3rd generation larvae spun silk nests and passed the winter as pupae in plant debris on the ground. Inoculation tests showed that larvae could normally developed and the population grew rapidly on the accessions of Tamarix ramosissima from the United States. Two parasitoid wasps, Elasmus sp. (Elasmidae) and Apanteles sp. (Braconidae) were emerged from the 3rd and 4th instar larvae.
