comment:
The biology of Neoleucinodes elegantalis was studied on Solanum quitoense in the field in Colombia and in the laboratory at 24?C and 74% RH. In the laboratory, the egg, larval and pupal stages lasted 5.86, 24.58 and 12.33 days, resp. Female longevity was 6.83 days and male longevity 4.0 days. There were 5 larval instars, lasting 3.58, 3.33, 4.16, 4.45 and 8.7 days, resp. In the field, the larval stage lasted 26 days. On average, 93 eggs were deposited over a period of 7 days. Natural enemies included encyrtids (possibly Copidosoma sp.) (1.6% parasitism), tachinids (0.08%), ichneumonids (0.38%), Trichogramma sp. (81.93%) and Beauveria sp. (55% infection). none
