Heliothis armigera (Hubner) is widely distributed and causes damage to 56 cultivated plants in India. About 100 parasitoid species have been reared on H. armigera of which 70 belong to the parasitic Hymenoptera. The egg parasitoids Trichogramma confuscum Viggianni, T. chilonis Ishii, T. australicum Girault and T. achae Nagaraja and Nagarkatti; and the larval parasitoids Campoletis chlorideae Uchida, Apanteles sp., and Chelonus blackburni Cameron, are promising species for its biological control. Various aspects of C. chlorideae including per cent parasitism, host preference, aggregative response, dominance over other larval parasitoids, cropping and seasonal patterns, impact on host feeding and movement have been assessed to highlight its impact on the control of H. armigera.
