comment:
Host suitability for solitary koinobiont endoparasitoid Venturia canescens (Gray.) was tested on 15 and 29 day- old (approximately L3 and L5) instars of Ephestia kuehniella Zeller at 25[plus or minus]1[degree]C constant temperature with a 16:8h light and dark photoperiod and 60-70 % relative humidity. Longevity of adult female, development time, realised fecundity and potential fecundity of the parasitoid were investigated. The longevity of adult female parasitoid was unaffected depending on different instars of the host. The average longevity of adult females was; 8.67 and 10.87 days on L3 and L5 respectively. The development time of the parasitoid was significantly higher in L3 than L5. The average development time of the parasitoid from egg to adult was; 29.33 and 26.93 days on L3 and L5 respectively. The realised fecundity of the parasitoid was significantly higher in L5 than L3. The average realised fecundity of the parasitoid was; 134.31 and 74.75 on L5 and L3 respectively. Unlike the realised fecundity, the potential fecundity of the parasitoid was significantly higher in L3 than L5. The average potential fecundity of the parasitoid was; 215.81 and 134.31 on L3 and L5 respectively.
