    Species (32) of the genera Austroopius Szepligeti, Biosteres Foerster's Bitomus Szepligeti, Euopius Fischer and Opius Wesmael are reported from the Ethiopian and Indo-Australian Regions. The following 12 spp. are new: E. milvus sp. nov. female (New Caledonia), O. (Utetes) bulbutus sp. nov. female (New Guinea), O. (Nosopoea) cyphus sp. nov. male (Uganda), O. (Gastrosema) entzi sp. nov. female (Ghana), O. (U.) loksai sp. nov. female (New Guinea), O. (U.) nadus sp. nov. male (India), O. (U.) pestes sp. nov. female (India), O. (N.) propecubitalis sp. nov. female (India), O. (N). remissus sp. nov. female (India), O. (U.) suppurus sp. nov. female (India), O. (U.) topali sp. nov. female (India) and O. (U.) transitus sp. nov. female (New Guinea). The majority of the known species are new to the fauna of the countries in respect. Checklists were compiled for the species of the Ethiopian and Indo-Australian Regions separately. The material documenting the novelties is deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest.
