Seven species of Bracon were encountered during a parasite host survey conducted from 1977 to 1985 in the Texas Rolling Plains. The species were Bracon caulicola (Gahan), Bracon gossypii Say, Bracon mellitor Say, Bracon sp. near mellitor Say, Bracon nuperus (Cresson), Bracon rudbeckiae (Muesebeck), and Bracon tychii (Muesebeck). New distribution records were obtained from B. caulicola and B. tychii. The hosts utilized by Bracon spp. were mainly from the orders Coleoptera and Lepidoptera; however, the dipteran, Paracantha sp., was parasitized by M. nuperus. Bracon spp. were reared only from host insects that were located in specific plant parts. Host sequences were evident for the more common Bracon spp.
