none Low temperature storage is an important part of the process of mass-rearing natural enemies for use in greenhouse pest control programs. The effect of storage at low temperature of Schizaphis graminum mummies parasitized by Lysiphlebus testaceipes on emergence and reproduction rates of the parasitoid was evaluated. The trials were conducted in a climatic chamber at 5[degree]C, with ten treatments: 4, 6, 8, 10. 12, 14, 16, 18 e 20 days of storage and a control not kept in storage, all in 10 replicates. Four hundred mummies of one day old were placed in 100 Petri dishes; 40 mummies were stored at 25[degree]C, RH 60[plus or minus]10%, photophase of 12 hr, and 360 mummies at 5[degree]C, RH 60[plus or minus]10% and in constant scotophase. After each storage period forty mummies were transferred to 25[degree]C and observed to evaluate emergence and reproductive functions. A highly significant negative correlation (R2= 0.97) was observed between the parasitoid emergence and the different storage periods, showing emergence reduction of L. testaceipes with increase of storage time. The control and the storage periods of 4 and 6 days, with 100, 80 and 80% of emergence of the parasitoid, were not different by the Tukey test (P<= I%), respectively. The time for 50% population mortality was 9.24 days. The storage period did not affect the sex ratio of L. testaceipes, by the Minimum Difference Significative test (MDS). There were not any affects of the low temperature on reproductive capacity of the parasitoid emerging after the exposition periods of 4, 6, 8 and 10 days at 5[degree]C. One-day-old mummies of S. graminum can be stored at 5[degree]C for a period of 6 days without fitness reduction of L. testaceipes. This result will aid in planning of mass production, package and transport of the parasitoids to the place of release.
