none not seen At the beginning the author describes the morphology of the adults and the linkage to the hostplant (Euphorbia amygdaloides). Observations on biology and ecology of this barkbeetle and its hostplant are added. Evidences of localities of Thamnurgus varipes exist from public and private collections, which show the distribution of the beetle and the hostplant (2 maps) in Austria. Hostplant and the beetle are distributed overlapping in the Western Palearctic, especially in the warmer parts of Southeast Europe.
