The biology and occurrence of natural enemies of safflower caterpillar, P. conducta a serious defoliator of Safflower was studied during rabi of 1984-1985. The egg, larval and pupal periods lasted about 4 to 5, 14 to 22 days and 8 to 11 days respectively. The total life cycle was found to be 28 to 40 days inclusive of 8 to 11 adults period. A single female laid 345 to 371 eggs in its life time. Three parasitoids viz., Apanteles ruficrus, Rogas sp. and an Ichneumonid were recorded to be predominant around Dharwar region of Northern Karnataska.
