Natural parasitism of S. derogata was studied for the first time in Togo from 1988 to 1990. 13 primary parasitoid species and 7 hyperparasites species were inventoried. The same species are encountered in the north and the south of the country. The major parasites are the Braconidae A. syleptae and A. sagax on larvae, and the Ichneumonidae X. punctata and the Chalcididae of the Brachymeria genus on nymphs. Among the hyperparasites, the most common species is N. phaeosoma (Eulophidae). The larva parasitism percentages were 3.4%, 12.5% and 7.1% in 1988, 1989 and 1990 respectively. On nymphs collected in the field, these values were 21.5% (1989) and 35.4% (1990). In 1989, 56.4% of A. syleptae cocoons and 77.0% of A. sagax cocoon clusters were parasitized, In 1990, the values observed were 18.2% and 14.4%. Hyperparasites reduce the already modest action of primary larva parasites.
