Investigations in cabbage crops in the Ukraine, USSR, showed that parasitism of larvae of the cabbage moth [Mamestra brassicae] by the ichneumonid Exetastes cinctipes [E. atrator] and the tachinid Ernestia consobrina [Eurithia consobrina] fell from 60-63 and 30-35%. respectively, 50 m away from dill to under 30 and a little over 20% 400 m from these nectar plants. Parasitism of larvae and pupae of the cabbage butterfly (Pieris brassicae] by the braconid Apanteles glomeratus [Cotesia glomeratal and the chalcid Pteromalus puparum, resp., was still as high as 60-65 and 25-30% at 10-15 m, but these figures were more than halved at 50 m. none
