The differences between Pimpla processioneae and P. rufipes are discussed, based on reared and collected specimens in The Netherlands. It is argued that P. processioneae is a distinct species and a specialist pupal parasitoid of Thaumetopoea processionea (Linnaeus) (Lepidoptera: Notodontidae). Pimpla processioneae is recorded here for the first time from The Netherlands.
