NOTES ON TAXONOMY
Named after its host Tiracola plagiata Walker which was erroneously spelt as Tivachola in the original description. Wilkinson in 1928 incorrectly emended it to tiracholae. The correct basionym should be Apanteles tiracolae. (Howard and Ashmead, 1896)
