NOTES ON TAXONOMY
According to Shenefelt, the collector's name should be Bequaert, thus the name should be Bequaertia, but this is occupied by Bequaertia Schouteden,1913, in which case he recommended maintaining the original spelling. (Shenefelt, 1979)
Named after the collector of the type of the type species, Dr. M. Bequart. (Fahringer, 1936)
