(Aubert, 1970) Aubert (1979) (translated) "I would add that the latter species is fixed by a female holotype of Greece, and that males of this genus differ from each other also by the type of last sternite, widely truncate with median blunt denticle in P. xanthopsanator Aub., with a rather strong growth in P. sticta F." (Aubert, 1979) Aubert (2000) (translated) "The holotype designated in 1969 belongs to the series in Greece and not to the coll de Beaumont as erroneously indicated in error in my seventh supplement (1970). Specimens of Switzerland and the Upper Rhine belong rather to sticticus Fabricius. The species differs from Greece by the indentation of the sub-genital plate provided with a median denticle in males (Aubert, 1979)." (Aubert, 1979) Klopstein (2011) "This name was first used by Aubert (1969) for a single male from Zeneggen (Switzerland, Valais). Later, Aubert used the name in the original for a different taxon from Greece (Aubert, 2000)and stated that the type locality reported in the original description was erroneous. However, the original description of Priopoda xanthopsanator Aubert 1969 perfectly matches the specimen from Switzerland found in the collection, but not the specimen from Greece. The use (and type designation) of the same name for another taxon from Greece (Aubert, 2000)thus represent an independent nomenclatural act which produced an additional name, which is a junior homonym of Priopoda xanthopsanator Aubert 1969."
